Submitting their resignation, officiating president of VDC Secretaries Welfare Protection Forum Yogeshwar Khanal demanded security for the VDC secretaries.
The Front had sent them a letter on July 16 demanding a large sum of money and threatening them with action if they didn’t resign, Khanal said.
The VDC secretaries said they would not return to work unless the government arranged proper security for them.
LDO Pokharel said a decision on the issue would be taken at a meeting of all stakeholders. He also asked all the VDC secretaries to continue their work until then.
