KATHMANDU, June 24: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has allocated a budget of Rs 25.41 billion for the coming Fiscal Year 2022/23. KMC Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol presented the budget amidst a special function today.
For the office expenses, Rs 4.68 billion has been allocated, which is 20 percent of the total budget. The metropolis has allocated Rs 11.08 billion for infrastructure development, which is 49.57 percent of the total budget.
Similarly, Rs 502.12 million, which is 2.24 percent of the total budget, has been allocated for the economic development program.
What is missing in budget for agriculture?
Apart from Rs 22.36 billion collected in the metropolitan fund, social security allowance from the federal government, various grants from the federal government and the provincial government and revenue sharing and land consolidation projects will be used for resource management. Such income will be Rs 3.5 billion excluding the reserve fund. According to the constitutional provision, KMC passed the policies and program on June 22 and accordingly, the budget was presented in the Municipal Council on June 24.
