Kathmandu Kalinga Literary Festival to spotlight Asian art, culture, and literature

KATHMANDU, Sept 5: The third edition of the Kathmandu Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) is set to take place on September 7 and 8, 2024, in Kathmandu. The festival will be inaugurated by Nepal's Tourism and Culture Minister Badri Prasad Pandey. This year's event will host over 300 writers from South Asia, including notable figures like Dr Abhi Subedi, Uday Prakash, and Lakshmi Murdshwar Puri as Guests of Honor.

The festival, themed “Nepal – The Gateways to Asian Art, Culture, and Literature,” will explore Nepal's cultural significance in the region. The two-day event will include sessions on literature, music, dance, art, and poetry, celebrating the rich traditions of Nepal and its ties with neighboring countries like India. British Ambassador to Nepal, Rob Fenn, will also join the event as the Chief Guest on the second day.

According to KLF Kathmandu, prominent writers, diplomats, and artists from Nepal, India, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka will participate, making it a significant platform for cultural exchange and literary dialogue. The festival will also highlight emerging literary talents and address contemporary issues like the role of literature in the digital age and the impact of AI on writing.
