Kathmandu DAO asks not to run physical classes in view of the COVID-19 threat

KATHMANDU, Sept 17: The District Administration Office, Kathmandu has asked education institutions not to run physical classes. 


Issuing a seven-point notice on Thursday, the DAO has asked schools to coordinate with the respective metropolises and municipalities if it is necessary to run physical classes. This comes amid preparations of schools and colleges in Kathmandu Valley preparing to run physical classes in Kathmandu Valley beginning Friday.

The DAO has stated that the order has been issued for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic with effect from September 17. People are not allowed to go out unnecessarily and celebrate festivals by forming huge crowds, according to the DAO.


Similarly, local transportation will be allowed from 9 AM to 11 AM and from 4 PM to 7 PM only. Kathmandu DAO has stated that action will be taken against those who violate the order.
