KATHMANDU, May 15: The Karnali Province Hospital in Surkhet has announced to stop admitting new COVID-19 patients for treatment starting Saturday.
Issuing a press statement on Friday, the hospital said that it is not in a position to admit COVID-19 patients for treatment due to acute shortage of medical oxygen.
We have been unable to receive medical oxygen supposed to be delivered from Nepalgunj. This has made us unable to admit new COVID-19 patients in the hospital, reads the statement.
Both the private and government hospitals have been refusing to admit new COVID-19 patients seeking treatment. They maintain that an acute shortage of medical oxygen has put the lives of thousands of people at risk.
