KATHMANDU, June 2: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has instructed the hospitals across the country to make public the treatment cost they charge to COVID-19 patients.
The ministry’s instruction comes in the wake of reports of COVID-19 designated hospitals charging high treatment fees to patients
Issuing a press statement, the health ministry has directed hospitals to publish the treatment cost of COVID-19 patients on their websites and notice boards within seven days where everyone can see it.
“We have learnt that some hospitals are charging excessively high treatment fees, conducting unnecessary tests, asking patients to buy unnecessary medicines and make arrangements for essentials required for the treatment on their own. These activities have drawn the attention of the ministry,” reads the press statement.
