Kabita's 'murderers' made public

UDAYAPUR, April 7: The District Police Office, Udayapur, has made public those allegedly involved in the murder of Kabita Sunuwar, 15, of Belka municipality-3, Buddhachowk on Wednesday. Kabita's dead body was found near the local Jasoda rivulet on Tuesday morning. 

Police made public Sarita Dhakal Khatri, 17, of Belka-3 and her elder uncle's son Binod Dhakal, 19, a resident of Sikkim Paiyu of India and currently living in Belka, as the murderers of the adolescent girl. 

Kabita, a 10th grader at Koshi Janata Secondary School, was murdered while she was on her way to school for SEE tuition classes. Her body was found almost two kilometers away from her home. 

After preliminary investigation into the murder, police arrested Sarita and Binod, according to District Police Office chief Subash Bohora. 

According to the police, both Kabita and Sarita were 10th graders in the same school. They had some personal disputes and Sairita was found to have used her brother to plot the murder of Kabita, police said. 

According to the preliminary investigation, Sarita had sent a mobile text to Kabita on Tuesday morning for early tuition classes. "Sarita also took his brother Binod to the forest on their way to school. When Sarita and Kabita met on the way, Binod attacked Kabita on her head from behind with a beer bottle. She fell unconscious immediately.

Police investigation has revealed that Sarita and Binod then stoned her to death. “We are preparing to file a murder case against Binod and Sarita,” police said.
