12 gold dealers held from Bardiya

Police arrested twelve gold dealers from various parts of the district for mixing gold with other substances and manipulating the weighing machine.

Over dozen villages prone to flooding in Morang

Residents of more than a dozen villages have been urged to take safety measures amid risks of flooding. The villages are at risks after floods in Bakraha, Ratuwa, Lohandra, Chisang, Singiya, Keshliya rivers in the district.  Fourteen people were killed and 3,500 were displaced by floods last year.  

Bhitti-Motipur road disrupted for three weeks

People and vehicles are forced to take a precarious route via Bhatti-Jufal road after landslide disrupted Bhitti-Motipur road of Dolpa three weeks ago.  The local government has turned a deaf ear towards residents’ plea to reopen the safer route. 

UNESCO adds pre-Islamic Iranian sites to World Heritage List

UNESCO has added eight pre-Islamic Iranian archeological sites to its World Heritage List, raising the number of Iran cultural places on the UN agency's list to 24. The UN agency added the sites, listed as "Sassanid Archaeological Landscape of Fars region (Islamic Republic of Iran)," along with several other locations around the world during its meeting in Bahrain.
