Jajarkot outbreak death toll climbs to 16

JAJARKOT, April 15: The number of death toll has reached 16 after one more died of seasonal flu on Wednesday morning.

Ailing Dal Bahadur Shahi of Talegaun-7, who was suffering from fever, cough and cold since past two days, died this moring.

Health worker Ram Krishna Giri, who has been deputed to Paink VDC, has returned to the district headquarters Khalanga after he fell ill due to the epidemic. Beside Paink, Pajaru, Talegaun, Sakla, Nayakwatda and Archhani are the most affected VDCs in the district.

Meanwhile, Chief District Officer is holding an emergency meeting on how to curb the epidemic and save the lives of the common people.

Director Dr Rajendra Panta at Mid-western Regional Health Directorate, Surkhet said all the mechanisms have been mobilized to take the desease under control.
