ITAHARI, March 1: Rastriya Jagriti Club is set organize the 11th International Invitational Tuborg Itahari Gold Cup Football Tournament from March 4 to 11 in Itahari.
Organizing a press meet on Wednesday, the organizer informed that the tournament will feature eight teams including seven domestic clubs and one from India.
The tournament that will be played at Janata Primary School's ground will see the participation of Kathmandu's Himalayan Sherpa Club, Boys Union Club and Church Boys Club alongside host Jana Jagriti Club, Jhapa XI, Morang XI and Sunsari XI. Similarly, Kanchanjunga Sporting Club of Siliguri, India will be the visiting team of the tournament.
The champion of the tournament will win a purse of Rs 200,000 while the runner-up will be rewarded with Rs 100,000 informed Jana Jagriti's Anurodh Thapa. Similarly, the highest goalscorer in the competition will be awarded with cash prize of Rs 10,000 and man-of-the-match will get Rs 5000.
The organizer also informed that the total budget of the tournament is estimated to be Rs 2.4 million.
