The pair of Ichha Shakya and Shiva Shrestha of King Kong and the pair of Raju Bhuju and Keshab Paudel won veteran's matches.
Youth boxing in Surkhet
KATHMANDU: Players' Society of Nepal and Surkhet District Boxing Association are set to organize Colors Mobile National Open Youth Men's and Women's Novice Boxing Tournament from May 29 to June 1 in Surkhet. At least 100 male and 25 boxers below 18 years age are expected to take part in the competition on organized to mark the Republic Day. The expected cost of the tournament is Rs 700,000 out of which Nepal Boxing Association will provide Rs 100,000.
Departmental teams triumph
KATHMANDU: Departmental teams Tribhuvan Army Club and Armed Police Force (APF) Club started their journey of the Second Naya Bazar Cup National Men's Volleyball Tournament with wins on Wednesday at Naya Bazar in Kathmandu.
Army thrashed host Naya Bazar Social Youth Club in straight sets of 25-9, 25-22, 25-8 in the inaugural match, while APF Club beat Dhorpatan Sports Training Club 25-9, 25-12, 25-8 in the second match of the day. Meanwhile in a friendly match, The organizing committee overcame artist team 2-1.
Winner of the tournament will bag Rs 111,111 and runner-up will receive Rs 60,111. Similarly, third and fourth teams will get Rs 35,111 and Rs 11,111 respectively. Best player of the tournament will take home Rs 5,000, while best setter, blocker, defender and quicker will get Rs 3,000 each. Best coach will bag Rs 4,000.
