“I have resigned from my job as a government doctor but I will be serving as a doctor,” he said in a press conference in Janakpur, “I joined politics just because of my will to serve the nation in this uneasy political situation.”

He claimed there is no dispute over party’s decision to nominate him as the candidate of Constituent Assembly seat. “I was nominated by the parliamentary board based on the district committee’s recommendation,” he said, refuting the allegations that he was picked just for being President Dr Ram Baran Yadav’s son. “Is it my fault to be president’s son?”

He said he was active in student politics since 1985 but preferred completing his education thinking that good education was required to become a good leader.
