Research papers presented at the seminar concluded that poverty, culture, child marriage and illiteracy are the main factors leading to teenage pregnancy. Addressing the same issue, Bidhan Acharya, Associate Professor of CDPS, offered, “Unless adults – be it parents, guardians or teachers – openly discuss matters regarding sex with the adolescents, teenagers will remain more vulnerable to unsafe sex, the consequences of which everyone has to bear.”
