BIRATNAGAR, Feb 13: Police have disclosed the identities of two individuals who were arrested on Monday from Biratnagar-3 and Nemuwa in Budhiganga of Morang district in connection with planting suspicious objects on Tuesday.

BIRATNAGAR, Feb 13: Police have disclosed the identities of two individuals who were arrested on Monday from Biratnagar-3 and Nemuwa in Budhiganga of Morang district in connection with planting suspicious objects on Tuesday.


According to the  police, the arrested persons are associated with the CPN Maoist (Mahabir) group. The arrested persons have been identified as Prabin Mishra, 38, of Mangsebung Rural Municipality-1, Gajurmukhi in Illam district, currently residing in a rented room in Bhimsengola, Kathmandu, and Bipin Adhikari, 30, of Changthapu in Panchthar, currently residing in Yangwarak Rural Municipality-1.

Various explosive materials used for detonation, including seven detonators, one detonation cord measuring 18 feet 3 inches, and 2.5 kilograms of soda along with two booklets of receipts, four empty cans, one press card from Mukti Nath Publication House, 3 mobile phones, 5 SIM cards, and other related items, were recovered from Mishra.


Similarly, one torn receipt and one intact bag, four letters related to financial assistance, one press card from Mukti Nath Publication House, a diary, a checkbook from SBI Bank, one digital stamp, one mobile phone, and one SIM card were recovered from Adhikari, according to the police.


SP Deepak Pokharel at the District Police Office, Morang, said the arrested persons were collecting donations from various educational institutions in Biratnagar. According to Pokharel, the suspicious object resembling a pressure cooker bomb, which they had concealed, was recovered from the western side of the forest office located in Biratnagar-3. The recovered pressure cooker bomb was disposed of by the bomb disposal team of the Nepalese Army on Tuesday.
