Indian special plane to airlift Dhading accident survivors, bodies

KATHMANDU, April 23: An Indian special aircraft is scheduled to airlift the injured and mortal remains of the 17 Indian pilgrims who were killed in Wednesday's tragic bus accident in Dhading, on Thursday.

"All the crash survivors and bodies would be flown back to India on a special plane on Thursday," the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu informed via a twitter.The embassy further said that special Indian plane is scheduled to land in Kathmandu this afternoon itself to bring back the survivors and the bodies of the deceased.

"A special plane to carry back the dead as well as survivors of the tragic bus accident will arrive in Kathmandu around noon today," the embassy tweeted today.

A bus with Indian registration number GJ-14X-9900 heading for India from Kathmandu skidded off the road in the Naubise-Nagdhunga section of Tribhuvan Highway and plunged 200 meters into the Sishne Khola.

At least 17 Indian pilgrims including nine women and 8 men were killed and two dozen others injured when bus with Indian number plate, carrying around 45 pilgrims from Gujarat, India, veered off at Naubise in Dhading district, Wednesday morning.
