Indian national caught with semi-automatic pistol in Rautahat

The arrest occurred Sunday night at 8:30 pm following a tip-off that three suspicious individuals were dining at Sunil Hotel in Latmari. A team from the APF Forward Operating Base (FOB) Mathiya detained Dhananjay Kumar Jha, 26, a resident of Basantapur Gram Panchayat-9, Motihari, Bihar.

RAUTAHAT, Jan 20:  The Armed Police Force (APF) has apprehended an Indian citizen carrying a semi-automatic pistol and ammunition from Latmari area of Ishanath Municipality-4 in Rautahat district.


The arrest occurred Sunday night at 8:30 pm following a tip-off that three suspicious individuals were dining at Sunil Hotel in Latmari. A team from the APF Forward Operating Base (FOB) Mathiya detained Dhananjay Kumar Jha, 26, a resident of Basantapur Gram Panchayat-9, Motihari, Bihar.

According to SP Bikram Humagain, commander of the APF No 11 Battalion, the APF team confiscated a semi-automatic pistol, a magazine, and four 7.67 mm bullets from Jha. Two accomplices managed to flee toward India, abandoning an Apache motorcycle with registration number BR 05 BD 1224 at the scene.


SP Humagain said that the heightened APF presence along the border, in collaboration with local residents, has been instrumental in curbing crime and illegal activities in the area.
