Indian foreign minister tests positive for COVID-19

NEW DELHI, Jan 28: Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said on Thursday that he tested positive for COVID-19. " I have tested COVID-19 positive and urge all those who have come in recent contact to take suitable precautions," Jaishankar wrote on Twitter.

India is currently battling the third wave of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The federal health ministry on Thursday morning said 286,384 new cases and 573 related deaths were reported during the past 24 hours, with the country's COVID-19 tally rising to 40,371,500.
