India to support govt decision on UNMIN

KATHMANDU, Sept 5: Indian Ambassador Rakesh Sood said on Sunday that any decision Nepal would take on the future of United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) would be acceptable to India.



Sood conveyed the Indian stance on UNMIN´s future during his meeting with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, said PM´s Foreign Affairs Advisor Rajan Bhattarai.



During the meeting, the prime minister shared suggestions forwarded by the political parties and ambassadors representing the Security Council members in Kathmandu on the future of UNMIN, whose current mandate is expiring on September 15.



“The Indian ambassador told to the prime minister that India will support whatever decision the government would take in regard to UNMIN,” Bhattarai said. He said the prime minister and the Indian envoy also discussed issues of bilateral relations.
