KATHMANDU, Oct 21: Samant Kumar Goel, chief of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the external intelligence agency of India, has arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday afternoon.

A nine-member delegation led by India's RAW chief landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport by an Indian Air Force aircraft at 12:45 PM, according to a source.

Goel will be staying here for nine hours, the source said. He is scheduled to hold high-level meetings in Kathmandu.

It was not immediately clear about the purpose of his visit.

This is the second visit of chief of Indian intelligence agency of Nepal after his appointment in June last year. Goel had paid a three-day visit to Nepal on July 20, 2019.

The 'surprise visit' of the head of Indian intelligence agency is taking place couple of weeks ahead of Indian Army Chief MM Naravane's visit to Nepal.

According to Nepal Army headquarters, the Indian Army Chief is visiting Nepal in November. However, the Army headquarters has not made public specific dates for the visit yet.
