RUPANDEHI, June 28: A 45-year-old man who was kept at a quarantine facility set up at Bardaghat Municipality-2 in Nawalparasi (West) died in course of treatment at Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal on Sunday.


The man had returned from Mumbai, India, on Friday and was kept at the quarantine set up on the premises of local Dibya Jyoti Campus. He was suffering from high blood pressure and paralysis. However, it was immediately not clear whether the person died of Covid-19, local authorities said.

"We have collected his swab specimen and sent it to the Provincial Laboratory in Bhairahawa for a PCR test for Covid-19. The test report has yet to be produced," chairperson of Bardaghat Municipality ward no. 2, Daya Darlami, said. According to her, the man stayed in the quarantine facility for a day.
