Illegal opium cultivation on 172 ropanis of land destroyed in Rukum Paschim

RUKUM PASCHIM, April 12: Police have destroyed illegal opium poppy farming across 172 ropanis (1 ropani is equivalent to 508.74 square meters) of land in different parts of Rukum Paschim.

RUKUM PASCHIM, April 12: Police have destroyed illegal opium poppy farming across 172 ropanis (1 ropani is equivalent to 508.74 square meters) of land in different parts of Rukum Paschim.


The District Police Office (DPO), Rukum Paschim, said that the illegal plantations in Aathbiskot Municipality, Musikot Municipality and Sanibheri Rural Municipality were razed recently.

Police Inspector and Information Officer at the DPO, Rukum Paschim, Dharmendra Khadka, shared that a team of police destroyed opium cultivated in 60 ropanis of land in Aathbiskot Municipality ward no 1 and ward no 2 and in 45 ropanis in ward no 5.


Similarly, cannabis planted in 29 ropanis of land in ward no 3 in Sanibheri Rural Municipality, one ropani in Musikot Rural Municipality, 37 ropanis in wards no 3 and 7 of Aathbiskot Rural Municipality was also destroyed, according to Police Inspector Khadka.
