Identity of Khyati's kidnapper, accomplice disclosed

KATHMANDU, June 22: Police disclosed the identity of the the person and his accomplice who allegedly kidnapped Khyati Shrestha at a press conference in the capital, Monday.


The alleged kidnappers are Birendra Shrestha, 42, and Merina Shakya, 16.



Shrestha is a former teacher of AVM School, Manbhawan. He taught biology for nearly 14 years. Shakya is a student from the same school, awaiting her SLC results this year. Police said Shakya was the one who had told Khyati that she had been selected by VOW magazine for the award and helped Shrestha in kidnapping the victim who was subsequently found murdered.
