KATHMANDU, June 28: The 2015 Cricket World Cup will comprise 14 teams, a change from the original ten-team format, ESPNcricinfo claimed on Tuesday.

The development means that four Associate teams will now be part of the tournament, after the ICC´s initial decision to exclude them, as it was in the 2011 World Cup.[break]

The decision was taken on the third day of the ICC´s annual conference in Hong Kong.

On June 27, the ICC´s chief executives´ committee had recommended to the executive board a qualification tournament for the 2015 World Cup, without specifying the number of slots open to the Associates, giving them hope.
