KATHMANDU, Nov 28: The district qualifiers for the eighth National Games, which was postponed for two times, has been rescheduled to start from Friday. The qualifiers, which will be held by the Province 5, will run till December 7 in all the 77 districts. Secretariat Chief of the district Indra Bahadur Karki said that a total of 31,845 players have already registered their names for the district qualifiers. Among the 35 games to be played in the National Games, the qualifiers will be played for 20 games. Among the 20 games, women’s district qualifiers for boxing, weightlifting, cricket, basketball and handball will not be held. Instead, a direct province qualifier will be held for those five games. The secretariat informed that an amount of Rs 27.84 million has already been sent to organize district qualifiers. The date for the eighth central tournament has not been fixed yet. The host Province 5 has already demanded additional time as the construction works of the stadium has not been completed yet.
