Speaking to journalists at the press conference held after a meeting with the Chief Justice of the Federal Republic of Russia, Vacheslav M Levedev, Shrestha said, "I am ready to disclose my property details. I will also consult with other justices of the Supreme Court (SC) and request them to follow suit."[break]
At the press conference held at the Supreme Court, Russain Chief Justice Vacheslav M Levedev said that justices should be transparent while serving their term and urged the Nepali judges to make a clean breast of their property details. "In Russia, I and other justices make open our property details through websites. It helps judges to become transparent."
Chief Justice Shrestha also said that he has taken the issue of publicizing property details very positively and will try to implement the matter during his term.
Shrestha further said that the SC´s decision to draw the attention of Speaker Subas Nembang on not continuing the futile prime ministerial election has had a positive effect as Nembang put off the election scheduled few days ago.
