KATHMANDU, June 27: Newly-appointed Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha has said that his first priority is to build a heritage road connecting Swayambhu and Hanuman Dhoka, which are on the World Heritage Site List.
Assuming the office on Monday, Minister Shrestha said that special emphasis would be laid on building a heritage road connecting Swayambhu and Hanuman Dhoka. He said that he had signed the agreement to complete the work he had started since he became a member of parliament.

Similarly, he also said that the tourism sector has been badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and a study report has been prepared to promote it. He expressed his commitment to work with high priority on the issue of uplifting the tourism sector.
“Hanuman Dhoka and Swayambhu are on the World Heritage List. Much work has been done to create a heritage route by connecting these two places, however, starting that work is another matter. I will take special initiative to promote the tourism sector at its best and give high priority for tourism growth,” Minister Shrestha said.
