KMC releases Master plan to connect Swayambhu and Kathmandu Durbar Square

KATHMANDU, April 18: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has released a master plan to connect two cultural heritage sites— Swayambhu and Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square.

KATHMANDU, April 18: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has released a master plan to connect two cultural heritage sites— Swayambhu and Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square.


The master plan was released on the occasion of the World Heritage Day 2019 here today. According to the KMC sources, the master plan states that the travelers could walk by foot apprising themselves of different aspects of Hindu and Buddhist culture and religion throughout the route.

The trekking route is of 2.2 km with various temples, monasteries, dhungedhara among other religious and cultural places, said KMC mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya. He further added that the master plan will help keep the city culturally and historically intact. It will further promote domestic tourism as well, Mayor Shakya argued.
