KATHMANDU, June 6: Outgoing Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale has said that he spent the last seven months of his tenure working in the interest of the country and its people.
Minister Ale said, "During my tenure as a minister, I worked day and night for the benefit of the country and its people. I think I got an opportunity to correct any mistake I made in the past, but whatever I did I did for the people."
Stating that he started good work under the Ministry of Tourism, he also urged the incoming minister to continue this good work.

Minister Ale also claimed that the Batas Group was removed from Pashupati Dharamshala and Narayanhiti Palace Museum and the work done by the group has been brought in favor of the country and its people.
During his tenure, a shuttle bus service was brought into operation at the Tribhuvan International Airport for the convenience of the passengers and a large amount of revenue was paid to the government by casino operators and action was taken against the star hotels which had not paid the revenue, he said.
He also said that he will always work for the rights and interests of the country and its citizens as he works and advocates the country and its citizens whether he is in office or not.
A meeting of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Secretariat held on Sunday decided to recall the ministers who had joined the government on behalf of their party and sent a list of new ministers.
