Speaking at a program in Arghakhachi, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman added that Bhattarai’s nomination as the prime minister could be viewed as ‘magic’.[break]
“Maoist party has been doing magic; and we will continue that,” Dahal said. “Some said that the chairman would not allow Bhattarai to become the prime minister, but I sacrificed” he opined.
He also added that he would not harm anyone in the party. “During People’s War, there were gossips that we were not together and that I would shoot him dead,” he said. “But nothing of that sort has happened, we moved forward unitedly.”
Dahal also opined that the recent ‘infighting’ within the party would make the party more united and strong.
He also claimed that the government under Bhattarai would complete the peace process and constitution drafting process in a timely manner. “The government will fulfill people’s hopes,” Dahal said.
Dahal further added that Wednesday’s office-bearers meeting had been fruitful. The meeting decided to cancel the cadres gatherings scheduled by two factions of the party and instead decided to conduct the Central Committee meeting on November 3.
