Nepali Congress Humla district chapter demanded that the goverment should immediately withdraw the decision. Likewise, the district working committee of the NC also said the market of Simikot, the district headquarters, will remain closed until the government withdraws the decision to move the WUPAP office to Jumla.

WUPAP has been carrying out various development activities in Humla district for the past nine years.

According to Jeevan Bahadur Shahi, a central committee member of the NC, the government should revoke the decision keeping in view the poor economic condition of the people in Humla who are in need of support. "We will impose sterner shutdown for indefinite period if the government refuses to revoke the decision," added Shahi.

Due to the strike on Friday, there was a low presence of service seekers at government and non-government offices. All the academic institutions in the district remained closed.

Likewise, the district chapter of NC also submitted a memorandum to the chief district officer, Bijay Narayan Manandhar, in Humla district demanding revocation of the government decision.

WUPAP is a project under the Ministry of Local Development and implemented by the District Development Committee.
