SIMKOT (HUMLA), Sept 3: A total of 33 road accidents occurred in different parts of Humla district in the past three years. Seven persons lost their lives in these incidents, according to the District Police Office, Humla. 


Road defects have been blamed for most of the incidents. Police Inspector Narendra Chand informed that the Fiscal Year (FY) 2078/79 BS recorded six incidents, which claimed a child's life.

Similarly, the FY 2079/80 BS recorded 10 road accidents, where two persons lost their lives. The number of people getting injured in the incident stood at 24. None of them had serious injuries. 


A total of 18 road accidents occurred in the last fiscal year, where five persons were killed, Chand said, adding that it was the year witnessing most of the incidents. 


At least 35 persons were injured in 18 such incidents.
