KATHMANDU, Aug 20: Chandra Singh Karki, the vice-chairman of Sarkegad Rural Municipality in Humla, died in a car accident.
The accident occurred on Monday at Bheri Ganga Municipality- 5, Surkhet, as Karki was en route to Nepalgung in Banke from Surkhet. The vehicle (Ka Pra 02001 Kha 1011) met with an accident. According to the police, he passed away around 2 AM today while undergoing treatment in Nepalgunj.
Karki was elected as the vice chairman of Sarkegad Rural Municipality from the CPN (Maoist Center). Known within the party by the alias "Mukti," he was also the husband of Karnali Provincial Assembly member Jumkita Lama.
