KATHMANDU, May 27: The CPN-UML has objected to a statement made by the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Dilendra Prasad Badu.
UML lawmakers objected after Minister Badu, in parliament’s meeting today, accused former prime minister KP Sharma Oli of taking commissions while leading the government.
All seven constitutional commissions remain ineffective
Minister Badu also termed Oli’s statement made at a discussion between UML leaders regarding the government’s policies and programs for fiscal year 2022/23 as “lowly remarks”.
UML lawmaker Khagraj Adhikari expressed objection to the statement and demanded an apology from the minister over his accusations and remarks.
Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Agni Prasad Sapkota adjourned the meeting for 15 minutes after UML lawmakers staged a protest in the meeting.
On Thursday, Oli criticized the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) and its alliance partners and claimed that the policy of the NC would not make the people happy. Similarly, alleging that the ruling parties and alliance do not need a legal system or qualifications, Oli had argued that the NC and its alliance partners were ruling the country haphazardly.
