Star and non-star hotels in the Kathmandu valley and in other major tourist destinations such as Chitwan and Pokhara maintain that from mid-October till mid-November 100 percent rooms are booked. [break]
Rooms at Hotel De l´Annapurna are sold out for next five days while over 80 percent rooms have been booked for remaining days of the month. “First two weeks and the last week of November are also sold out while 85-90 percent rooms are booked for the remaining days of the month,” Avik JB Singh, Deputy Sales and Marketing Manager at the hotel said.
Bharat Joshi, Director, Sales and Marketing at Hotel Yak and Yeti, said rooms for October 20, 21,26 and 29 are all sold out.
Situation in tourist hubs like Chitwan and Pokhara is no different. Bigyan Aryal of Rhino Lodge in Chitwan said although the first two weeks were not so satisfactory, bookings till mid-November are overwhelming with 100 percent bookings for most days.
“First week along with November 12, 13 and 14 is all sold out while for remaining days the bookings are above 90 percent,” he added.

Hotel Barahi
Hotel Barahi, Pokhara, has all its rooms booked till October 27. Sales and Marketing Director of the hotel Yogendra Thapa said, “November 1 and 2 are completely booked and remaining days of November have bookings for over 90 percent rooms.”
Also, hoteliers have increased the room tariff up to 25 percent this season compared to last season. Annapurna has increased the room tariff by 25 percent. Singh at Annapurna said, "We have already increased the tariff and are planning to increase it further."
Hotel Barahi is also charging 20 percent more compared to last year. Similarly, Yak and Yeti also increased average room rates. "Our average rates are now US $90 exclusive of taxes," Joshi said.
