POKHARA, Oct 8: Bus ticket booking will be open in Pokhara from today, targeting those returning home during Dashain. Prithvi Rajmarga Bus Sanchalak Company Pvt Ltd has informed Republica that advance ticket booking for Dashain will be opened from Sunday, October 8.


The Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs Association (FNNTEA) has previously decided to open advance ticket booking only from October 9. However, Prithvi Rajmarga Bus Sanchalak Company has decided to open booking one day earlier. Earlier, the Prithvi Rajmarga Bus Sanchalak Company had refrained from initiating advance ticket booking until fare increases were implemented.

Due to the ongoing work of upgrading the Pokhara-Mugling road section and the Narayanghat-Butwal road section, the road is dilapidated, the vehicle parts, engines, gear boxes are damaged when driving on dilapidated roads, and need to be repaired frequently. The company was previously unable to provide advance bookings due to these challenges. However, taking into account the convenience of passengers during Dashain, advance ticket booking has been started. This was announced in a statement by the company's Chairman Yogendra Bahadur KC on Saturday. The company has confirmed that advance ticket booking for Dashain will be available at the counters in Firke-8, Pokhara, as well as at the other service providing offices of the company.
