KATHMANDU, May 19: Member of Parliament (MP) Chhiring Damdul Lama called for the immediate rescue of residents from Tilgaun, Namkha Rural Municipality-6 in Humla.
Speaking during the emergency time in today's session of the House of Representatives (HoR), Lama, a lawmaker from the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre), drew the government's attention to the local risk caused due to the landslide triggered by a glacial lake burst. He informed the House that 32 people from 18 families are currently living under tarps in a nearby field.

“The landslide victims are in an extremely difficult and fearful situation,” MP Lama said. “I urge the government to immediately rescue them, conduct inspections, provide protection, and deliver necessary relief to the affected area.”
The landslide in Tilgaun on May 14 and 15 has left 18 families at risk. The landslide that occurred at midnight on May 14 has endangered these 18 families. MP Lama also drew the government's attention to the fact that settlements near the Himalayas are at risk of natural disasters and called for focused attention on these areas.
