Home Ministry prepares for revised reform plan for home administration

KATHMANDU, April 19: The Ministry of Home Affairs is preparing an action plan targeting reforms in the home administration. 


The Home Ministry Reform Action Plan is in the offing by revising the Action Plan launched in 2078 BS. Moreover, it will incorporate the government’s Common Minimum Programme. 


Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha said that the government is preparing to bring a revised action plan with the realization that good governance and service to the people are the major goals.

Strengthening security, promotion of national unity, institutionalizing political achievements, protection of the constitution, delivery of transitional justice and social transformation will be key priorities of the action plan.   


The government seeks suggestions in the course of formulating the action plan which  is currently underway, Home Secretary Binod Prakash Singh told the state-owned  RSS. On Monday, the Home Ministry sought suggestions from journalists to this end. 


As per the Nepal  Government (Allocations of Business) Rule 2074 BS, implementation and regulation of internal security and maintaining law and order as well as formulation of policies, laws, standards, plans are one of the major businesses of the Home Ministry.
