KATHMANDU, July 8: The home ministry dismissed criminal charges by some Indian politicians against Acharya Balkrishna, the close aide of famous Indian yoga guru Ramdev, that he had been involved in criminal activities in Nepal and had later fled to India.

Issuing a press statement on Thursday, the ministry expressed concerns about media reports on Balkrishna’s alleged criminal past and made it clear that he has no involvement of any kind in criminal activities in Nepal. [break]

Earlier, some Indian politicians, specifically Congress leader Digvijay Singh had charged Balkrishna with having fled to India after his alleged involvement in criminal activities in Nepal.
