KATHMANDU, Oct 17: The Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed Chief District Officers (CDOs) of respective districts to immediately reopen the roads blocked due to incessant rain.
Speaking at the 'virtual' meeting with the Chief District Officers (CDOs) held at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday, Home Secretary Binod Prakash Singh directed the concerned Chief District Officers to complete the work within 20 to 22 days keeping in mind the schedule of the election.

He said that the CDOs should coordinate with the local governments to facilitate smooth arrangements for road operation. Home Secretary Singh also warned the concerned CDOs not to delay in restoring the disrupted electricity and communication services.
Stating that the ministry is ready to facilitate the work by coordinating with the central agencies, Home Secretary Singh also directed the officers to send the report to the ministry immediately.
Likewise, the Ministry of Home Affairs has also instructed the district administration offices to set concrete standards and arrange arrangements for the deployment of security personnel for the elections. Home Secretary Singh also clarified that there should be no delay in arranging the work in coordination with the heads of the security agencies in the district.
He said that the district administration offices should be alert to avoid the situation of lack of security personnel where needed and more where not needed. Home Secretary Singh also said that the District Administration Offices should focus on the upcoming House of Representatives and provincial assemblies elections to be held on November 20 and move forward with their activities.
