KATHMANDU, Feb 12: The Home Ministry has appointed Bishwo Raj Pokhrel as the new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Kathmandu.

Pokhrel succeeds Rabindra Dhanuk, the former chief of Kathmandu’s Metropolitan Police Division.
A source said that Pokhrel will resume his duties from today onwards. Before being appointed as Kathmandu’s chief, Pokhrel was working as the chief of Metropolitan’s Police Intelligence division. The right to transfer SSP and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) rests with the Home Ministry.
