Thada Magar recommended as APF SSP

KATHMANDU, March 18: The Secretariat of the Promotion Committee under the Ministry of Home Affairs has recommended six police officials including Superintendent of Police (SP) Ganesh Thada Magar for the post of senior superintendent of police (SSP) in the Armed Police Force (APF).

KATHMANDU, March 18: The Secretariat of the Promotion Committee under the Ministry of Home Affairs has recommended six police officials including Superintendent of Police (SP) Ganesh Thada Magar for the post of senior superintendent of police (SSP) in the Armed Police Force (APF).


A meeting of the Secretariat of the Promotion Committee held in Singha Durbar Friday evening recommended SP Ganesh Thada Magar, Abhi Kumar Khatri, Shambu Subedi, Durga Prasad Bhattarai, Kamal Giri and Rajendra Shakya in line with the Rule 39 (1) of the Armed Police Force Act, 2072 BS..

Assessed as competent, efficient and commanding police officer in the APF, Thada Magar had joined the Nepal Police as Inspector on June 17, 1999. He was promoted to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the APF on June 1, 2001 and to the post of SP on July 11, 2007.


Given his shining career achievement in such a young age, Thada Magar is likely to become the IGP of the APF, shared a senior police official at the AFP.


Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi will endorse the recommendation made by the Secretariat of the Promotion Committee if no complaints are lodged against it within a week.


The Secretariat comprises Home Secretary Lok Darshan Regmi as chairman, IGP Singha Bahadur Shrestha as member and AIG of the AFP Prem Kumar Shahi as member secretary.


The recommended SSPs will take charge officially once the recommendation is endorsed.
