Home Minister Khand pays homage to Pashupatinath

KATHMANDU, March 1: Minister for Home Affairs, Bal Krishna Khand went to the Pashupatinath Temple and paid homage to Lord Shiva on the occasion of the Mahashivaratri festival today.


The home minister also acquired information on the security situation of the Pashupati area after worshiping at the Temple.

There are crowds of devotees at the temples and shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva throughout the country, including at the Pashupatinath Temple here, since the morning today on the occasion of Mahashivaratri. The devotees started turning up for the worship at Pashupatinath from as early as 3AM today.


The four doors of the temple remain open for the devotees since that time. The temple will be kept open for the devotees to offer worship and pay homage until the night today, the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT), the body responsible for the management of the Pashupati area, a world heritage site, said.
