KATHMANDU, Nov 16: Suman Bhomjan Memorial Sports Foundation is all set to organize the third edition of Hetauda International Invitational Gold Cup football tournament from December 23 to 30.
The tournament to feature a total of eight clubs including six A-Division clubs will be played at the ground of the Forestry University.
Organizing a press meet in the capital on Wednesday, the foundation confirmed the participation of three A-Division clubs - Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, Armed Police Force.
However, the names of the remaining three A-Division clubs to take part in the tournament are yet to be confirmed. Similarly one team will be fielded by the host while the eighth team will be coming from Bhutan or India. The tournament will be conducted in knock-out format.
The champion will take home Rs 500,000 while the runner-up will be rewarded with Rs 300,000. Similarly, man-of-the-match will get Rs 5,000 whereas the best player of the tournament will be given Rs 25,000.
This tournament is organized every year in memory of sports journalist Suman Bhomjan, who was killed in the devastating earthquake of April 25 , 2015.
