KATHMANDU, July 17: Nepal is under the influence of monsoon with a low-pressure monsoon trough located south of the usual position.

Currently, the weather is partly to mostly cloudy across the country, with light to moderate rains occurring at a few places in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces and a couple of places in Sudurpaschim Province. Heavy rains are also falling in some places of Bagmati and Sudurpaschim provinces, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

The weather will remain partly to mostly cloudy across the country this afternoon with chances of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at a few places of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces and at a few places of the remaining provinces. Similarly, there is a possibility of heavy rain at some places of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

The weather will remain partly to mostly cloudy over the country tonight with chances of light to moderate rains with thunder and lightning in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and in some places of Sudurpaschim Province and a few places in the rest of the provinces.

Likewise, heavy rain is forecast at one or two places in Koshi, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, according to a weather bulletin issued by the MFD at 6 AM today.
