KATHMANDU, Sep 7: The Kathmandu District Court, which previously put on hold the hearing on multiple occasions, has scheduled the hearing in the Sandeep Lamichhane case for today.
The case was scheduled to be heard by a single bench of Judge Prakash Prasad Pandit at the Kathmandu District Court on August 27. But the hearing was postponed at the eleventh hour. Subsequently, a new hearing date was set for today.
Sandeep Lamichhane, who recently returned to Nepal after representing the country in the Asia Cup, has been awaiting the resolution of this case.
The charges against him stem from a complaint filed on September 6 last year. He is accused of raping a minor. He was arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport on October 6 last year, nearly a month after an arrest warrant was issued against him.
