KATHMANDU, Dec 10: The hearing on the case against cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has been postponed due to the absence of the lawyers. The case was postponed because the advocate could not attend the proceedings due to the conference of Nepal Bar Association in Chitwan.

On Sunday, the case against Lamichhane was scheduled at the bench of Judge Padma Raj Pandey. Saroj Krishna Ghimire, Lamichhane’s lawyer, mentioned that the case was postponed because Shambhu Thapa and other legal practitioners were unable to attend the final hearing.

Earlier, on November 9, the bench of Judge Keshab Prasad Ghimire of Kathmandu District Court had asked both the plaintiff and defendant parties for a ‘note of argument’. After submission of ‘note of argument’ from both parties, the case was set for a hearing on Sunday.

The final hearing was intended to provide further clarification on the issues raised by both parties in the 'note of argument.' Following that, the judge had the possibility to announce the judgment or appoint another judge for the announcement of the judgment.
