KATHMANDU, April 4: Hearing on the writ petition against Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), will be held at the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Spokesperson of the Supreme Court, Bimal Paudel, said that the hearing has been rescheduled for Wednesday as Justice Anil Kumar Sinha could not preside over the hearing due to court regulations. High Court judges and Supreme Court justices are now allowed to hear the same case for a second time if they already issued any order in the same case previously or if the petitioner or the defendant happens to be a close relative or kin of the judge.

Advocate Yuvraj Paudel had filed a writ petition against Lamichhane on Monday stating that he was exempted from punishment for misuse of passport.

Attorney General Dr. Dinmani Pokharel had decided not to file a case against Lamichhane for misuse of passport on the 20th of March. It was said that the Attorney General decided not to pursue the case based on the report from the High Public Prosecutor's Office through the District Public Prosecutor's Office.
