Health Ministry reports two more COVID-19 deaths in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Two more deaths related to novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were recorded in the past 24 hours in Nepal, according to Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Two more deaths related to novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were recorded in the past 24 hours in Nepal, according to Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

According to Dr Jageshwar Gautam, Spokesperson for the MoHP, two persons — one each from Parsa and Morang district -- succumbed to COVID-19 on Sunday.


So far, 10 individuals in Province 1, 45 in Province 2, 18 in Bagmati Province, six in Gandaki Province, 13 in Province 5, four in Karnali Province and eight others in Sudurpaschim Province have died of COVID-19.


Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll stands at 104 as of Sunday afternoon. Those succumbed to COVID-19 so far include 81 males and 23 females.


The MoHP also confirmed 641 new cases of COVID-19 across the country in the last 24 hours.
