Health Ministry reports 311 new cases and one more COVID-19 related death

KATHMANDU, July 28: The Ministry of Health and Population said that 311 new cases of coronavirus and one more COVID-19 related death were recorded in the past 24 hours.

KATHMANDU, July 28: The Ministry of Health and Population said that 311 new cases of coronavirus and one more COVID-19 related death were recorded in the past 24 hours.


At a virtual press briefing, Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the ministry said that 311 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed during PCR tests conducted at various labs in the past 24 hours across the country. "With new cases today, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has risen to 19,063," the spokesperson said.

According to Gautam, a 65-year-old male from Bajhang succumbed to the coronavirus infection on July 24. He was an India returnee. "With this, Nepal's COVID-19 death toll has jumped to 49," he said. 


Likewise, 121 persons who earlier tested positive for coronavirus were discharged after recovery from various isolation centers. "With this, Nepal's COVID-19 recovery tally has reached 13,875," Gautam said.
