Health ministry confirms two more COVID-19 deaths

KATHMANDU, June 18: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has reported two more COVID-19 deaths in Nepal on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, June 18: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has reported two more COVID-19 deaths in Nepal on Wednesday.


With this, the COVID-19 death toll has now reached 22.

According to Dr Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for MoHP, a 46 years old man from Godawari Municipality-4, who had tested positive for COVID-19 on June 13, succumbed to the viral disease on Wednesday. He was undergoing treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital.


Also, a 43 years old female from Lamkichuwa-2, Kailali admitted at Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur, after sustaining head injuries has died of COVID-19. Her swab samples tested positive for COVID-19 in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests conducted at Bheri Hospital-based COVID laboratory today.


So far, 116,215 people are staying in various quarantine facilities across the nation and as many as 6,648 COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment at various isolation centers.


Similarly, 671 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed and 19 patients were discharged after recovery in the last 24 hours.
